The Music application with Helix DNA as a foundation, provides improved performance and stability for managing and playing various types of music files. Helix DNA replaces FFmpeg as the standard multi-media codec library and provides greater support for media formats such as, AAC and aacPlus, AMR-NB and AMR-WB, H.263 ,MP3, MPEG4, RealAudio and RealVideo. In addition, support is provided for streamed formats including, AAC and aacPlus, MP3, RealAudio and RealVideo.
The Qtopia Media Player application is used to playback music and videos. The Media Player is based on the common application framework provided by the Multimedia Architecture.

The user interface takes full advantage of features available in Qt to enhance user experience. The user interface features transparency and transition effects.
